About Tidepool Twins: Shell Memory Match

Help Pip the hermit crab explore a sunny tidepool in this cute 3D memory match game! Tap a clam shell and Pip scuttles over as it creaks open to reveal a hidden sea creature: starfish, seahorses, octopuses, pufferfish, turtles, clownfish, penguins and more. Remember who lives where and find every matching pair before the tide comes in. Fewer moves and a quick time earn three stars.

Across 30 levels the grid grows from 2x3 to 6x6 and new twists keep your memory sharp: sneak-peek previews, tide waves that slide closed shells around, bonus pearls, stinging jellyfish you must never open twice, triplets, and a Simon-style Starfish Song every fifth level. Choose Easy, Medium or Hard to change peek time, move limits, hearts and tide strength. Play free in your browser on desktop with mouse or keyboard, or on mobile with simple taps.

How to Play Tidepool Twins: Shell Memory Match

Goal: Open the clam shells and find every matching pair (or trio) of sea creatures, using as few moves as possible.

  1. Desktop: click a shell to open it, or move with the arrow keys and press Enter/Space. In Starfish Song levels, click the starfish or press keys 1–6. Esc/P pauses.
  2. Mobile: tap a shell, or tap the starfish in song levels.
  3. Rules: open two shells per move. Matching creatures stay open and mismatches close again. A matched pearl pair gives +1 heart and 2 moves back. Opening the same jellyfish twice stings you for −1 heart. Triplet levels need 3 of a kind.
  4. Tide waves: every few moves a wave slides some closed shells to new spots. Watch them move!
  5. Levels: 30 levels, from 2x3 up to 6x6 grids. The sneak peek starts at level 3, tides at 6, pearls at 8, jellyfish at 11 and triplets at 16. Levels 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 are Starfish Song rounds: watch the glowing tune, then repeat it.
  6. Stars: awarded by move count, minus one star if you are slower than the par time.
  7. Difficulty: Easy has a long peek, 4 hearts, no move limit and gentle tides. Medium has a shorter peek, 3 hearts and a move limit. Hard has the shortest peek, 2 hearts, a tight move limit, more frequent and stronger tides, and longer songs with 6 starfish.
