Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Number Games (“Number Games”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use our website at numbergames.org (the “Website”) and our mobile games and applications published on Google Play and the Apple App Store (the “Apps”). The Website and the Apps are together called the “Services”. By using the Services you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Services.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

Number Games is an online publisher of free HTML5 browser games and mobile games focused on math, numbers, logic and brain training. We operate online only and do not have a public physical office. For any privacy question, request or complaint you can contact us at [email protected] or through our contact form. We are the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you give us

  • Contact messages: when you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, the subject and the content of your message.
  • Game reports: when you report a game, we receive the reason you selected and any description you type. We do not ask for your name or email address for reports.
  • Ratings: when you rate a game we store the star rating you chose.

You do not need to create an account to play games on the Website, and we do not ask you to provide your name, age, address or phone number to play.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Log and device data: like almost every website, our servers automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, pages visited, date and time of access and similar diagnostic data. This data is used for security, fraud prevention and to keep the Services working.
  • Rating and report protection: to prevent the same visitor from voting many times or flooding us with reports, we store a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address together with your rating or report. The hash cannot be turned back into your IP address.
  • Usage statistics: we count how many times each game is played (without identifying who played it) so we can show “Most Played” lists.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see section 4 below.
  • Mobile advertising identifiers (Apps): our Apps may collect your device's resettable advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID on Android or Apple's IDFA on iOS, where you allow it), device model, operating system version, language, approximate location derived from your IP address, and app interaction and crash data. This information is collected mainly by our advertising partner Google AdMob, as described in section 6.

2.3 Information stored only on your device

Many games save your progress, settings or high scores in your browser's local storage or in the App's private storage on your device. This information stays on your device, is not sent to us and can be removed by clearing your browser data or uninstalling the App.

3. How we use information

  • to provide, operate and maintain the Services and the games you choose to play;
  • to show game ratings, popularity and recommendations;
  • to answer your messages and handle reports, feedback and copyright notices;
  • to measure and improve the performance of the Website and Apps and to understand which games people enjoy;
  • to display advertising that keeps the Services free, including, where permitted and where you have consented, personalised advertising;
  • to detect, prevent and address abuse, fraud, invalid ad traffic, security incidents and technical problems;
  • to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent (for example for personalised advertising and non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving free services (for example server logs, anti-abuse measures and aggregate statistics), and compliance with legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device. We and our partners use cookies, web beacons, local storage and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Strictly necessary: for example to protect forms against misuse and to remember that you dismissed a notice. The Website works without other cookies.
  • Analytics: to understand how visitors use the Website (see section 7).
  • Advertising: to serve, limit the frequency of and measure advertisements and, where you consent, to personalise them (see section 5).

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how certain games or features work. Where required by law (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), non-essential cookies are only used after you give consent through the consent message shown on the Website, and you can change your choices at any time through the same message or the “Privacy and cookie settings” link where available.

5. Advertising on the Website (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on the Website. Advertising revenue is what allows us to offer our games for free.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this Website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Website and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Other ad vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on the Website through Google's platform. A list of these providers and their policies is available through Google's consent tools and at Google's list of ad technology providers.
  • For more information about how Google collects and uses data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, ads are only personalised if you give consent through a Google-certified consent management platform. If you do not consent, Google may still show non-personalised ads, which use cookies only for purposes such as frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fighting fraud and abuse.

6. Advertising in our mobile Apps (Google AdMob)

Our Apps are free to download and are supported by ads served through Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect and use your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information and ad interaction data to deliver, measure and, where permitted, personalise ads, and to detect invalid traffic. Details are available in AdMob's data disclosure information and the Google Privacy Policy.

  • Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device's settings (Settings › Google › Ads, or Settings › Privacy › Ads on newer versions).
  • iOS: we only access your IDFA if you allow tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. If you do not allow tracking, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised using the IDFA.
  • Where required, our Apps ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice from within the App's settings or privacy options.

The information our Apps collect and share is also described in the Data safety section of each App's Google Play listing and in the App Privacy section of each App's App Store listing. Our Apps do not request access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or precise location unless a specific feature clearly needs it, and in that case you will be asked for permission first and can refuse.

7. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the Website, for example which pages and games are popular and which devices are used. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited, time on site, approximate location (derived from IP address, which Google Analytics 4 does not store) and device information. We use this information only in aggregated form. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by declining analytics cookies in our consent message where it is shown. Our Apps may use analytics and crash-reporting tools to find bugs and improve performance; this data is used to fix problems and is not used to identify you personally.

8. Games made by third parties

Some games on the Website are created by independent developers and are embedded on our pages. We review games before publishing them and do not permit games to collect personal information from players. However, some games may use your browser's local storage to save progress, or load resources such as fonts from third-party servers. Links to external websites (for example app stores) are governed by the privacy policies of those websites, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

9. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not rent or trade email addresses. We share information only:

  • with service providers who host the Website, deliver email or provide analytics and advertising (such as our web host, Google AdSense, Google AdMob and Google Analytics), who process it on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own privacy policies;
  • when required by law, court order or a valid request from a public authority, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Number Games, our users or others;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to the transferred information;
  • with your consent or at your direction.

California residents: under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA), allowing advertising partners to use cookies or device identifiers for cross-context behavioural advertising may be considered “sharing” of personal information. You can opt out of this at any time by using the opt-out tools in sections 5 and 6, by enabling a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, or by contacting us. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

10. Children's privacy

Our Website is a general-audience website enjoyed by players of all ages, including students and families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in the child's country, such as 16 in some EU member states) without verifiable parental consent. No account or personal details are needed to play our games. Children should ask a parent or guardian before using the contact form.

  • We ask advertising partners to treat traffic appropriately for a mixed audience and, where required, to serve only non-personalised, age-appropriate ads.
  • If any of our Apps are designed for children or included in Google Play's Designed for Families programme or the App Store Kids category, those Apps comply with the Google Play Families Policy, Apple's App Store Review Guidelines for kids apps and the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA): they use only advertising SDKs certified for families, do not show personalised or interest-based ads to children, do not collect the advertising identifier or other persistent identifiers from children for advertising purposes, do not collect precise location, and do not include links out of the App or purchases without a parental gate.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

11. Data retention

We keep contact messages for as long as needed to handle your request and for up to 24 months afterwards, unless a longer period is required by law. Game reports are kept until they are resolved and for a reasonable period after that. Rating records (with hashed IP addresses) are kept for as long as the rated game is published. Server logs are normally kept for no longer than 90 days. Anti-abuse records such as rate-limit entries are deleted automatically within 24 hours. Advertising and analytics partners keep data according to their own retention policies.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encrypted HTTPS connections, access controls, hashed storage of IP addresses and passwords, and regular updates. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. International data transfers

Our service providers, including Google, may process information in countries other than the one in which you live, including the United States. Where the GDPR applies, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

14. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; request deletion of your information; restrict or object to certain processing; receive your information in a portable format; withdraw consent at any time; and opt out of personalised advertising or the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected] with the subject “Privacy request”. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (usually 30 days, or 45 days under the CCPA). We may need to ask for information to verify your request, and we will never discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

15. Data deletion requests for our Apps

Our Apps do not require an account, so most App data is stored only on your device and is removed when you uninstall the App or clear its data. If you want us to delete any information associated with you, such as messages you sent us, email [email protected] with the subject “Delete my data”, mentioning the App name and the email address you used to contact us. Data held by Google AdMob can be managed through your device's advertising settings and your Google account.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we add new features, Apps or partners, or when the law changes. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above. If the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice on the Website or in the Apps.

17. Contact

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, please contact us at [email protected] or use our contact form.
