About Heartwood: Trick-Taking Lodge

A cozy forest card table hosts a compact Hearts challenge. Play one complete hand against three woodland rivals, avoid penalty cards, or attempt a daring moon shot. Thirty seeded hands, highlighted legal moves, card suggestions, and three rival skill settings make Heartwood inviting for learners and thoughtful players alike.

How to Play Heartwood: Trick-Taking Lodge

Play a single-hand, no-passing Hearts challenge against three rivals. The 2 of clubs opens. Follow the led suit whenever possible; otherwise discard another legal card. You cannot discard a heart or the queen of spades on the first trick unless only penalty cards remain. Hearts cannot lead until a heart has been played, unless your hand is all hearts. Each heart is 1 penalty point; the queen of spades is 13. The highest card of the led suit wins the trick. Taking all 26 points shoots the moon: rivals each receive 26 instead. Finish tied for or holding the lowest score to advance. Easy, Medium, and Hard change rival tactics, which strengthen across 30 chapters. Tap cards on desktop or mobile; grey cards are illegal right now.
