About Frostfort Typist: Snowman Standoff

Grumpy snowmen are waddling down the hill to flatten Pip the penguin's snow fort, and only your typing can stop them! Frostfort Typist: Snowman Standoff is a free 3D typing game for kids that you play right in your browser. Each snowman carries a word sign: type the first letter to lock on, finish the word, and Pip hurls a snowball that topples it in a poof of snow. Sled riders zoom in fast, big snowmen carry longer words, and top-hat bosses bring whole sentences.

Thirty levels grow from home-row keys to short words, longer words, capitals and punctuation, and boss sentences. Pick Easy, Medium or Hard to set word length, snowman speed and fort strength. Play on desktop with a real keyboard, or on phones and tablets with the big on-screen keyboard. Earn up to three stars for accuracy and a sturdy fort, and watch your words-per-minute climb as you become a snow-fort typing champion!

How to Play Frostfort Typist: Snowman Standoff

Goal: Type the words on the snowmen's signs to throw snowballs and stop them before they reach Pip's snow fort.

  1. Desktop: Type with your keyboard. Your first letter locks onto the nearest snowman whose word starts with it; type the rest to throw. Use Shift for capital letters. Backspace lets go of the locked word, and Esc pauses. The ⌨ button shows or hides a helper keyboard that highlights the next key.
  2. Mobile and tablet: Tap the big on-screen keys at the bottom of the screen. Tap ⇧ before a capital letter, and ⌫ lets go of the locked word.
  3. Rules: A snowman that reaches the wall knocks off a fort brick. Lose every brick and the level is lost. Top-hat boss snowmen carry sentences, and every word you finish hits them.
  4. Stars: ★ for a win, ★★ for 70%+ accuracy with at least half the fort standing, ★★★ for 90%+ accuracy with no damage. The results card shows your WPM, accuracy and fort health.
  5. Levels: 30 levels: home-row keys, home-row words, home and top rows, short words, longer words, capitals and punctuation, then mixed mastery. Every 5th level has a boss with a sentence.
  6. Difficulty: Easy has 5 bricks, short words, slow snowmen, fewer of them, and key hints. Medium has 4 bricks and medium-length words. Hard has 3 bricks, the longest words, faster snowmen, more frequent spawns and no hints.
