A SEASONAL PLANNING STUDY

A little care. A different future.

Plan one intervention per season. Meet each habitat goal within your action budget.

Open is an outcome, too. Each study asks for its own habitat mosaic. Woodland is not a universal destination.

    WELCOME TO YOUR HABITAT JOURNAL

    Think in seasons.
    Plan for a mosaic.

Guide three fictional habitat patches toward the study’s specific final goals. Open, shrub and woodland habitats can all be valid outcomes. You plan a short sequence, then check the final forecast.

    1. 1
Read the goals and disturbance notes.

Each patch has soil, shade and seeds. Every season announces which patches will be disturbed.

    2. 2
Edit a season, choose a patch, pick an action.

There is one intervention or Wait per season. All previews update immediately, including the 3D end-of-plan forecast.

    3. 3
Meet the goals within your budget.

Wait costs zero. Other actions cost one point. Replace an action with Wait if your plan is over budget; any valid plan is accepted.

THE MODEL & A LITTLE ECOLOGY

    Different conditions.
    Different futures.

Plant communities can change as conditions and the plants around them change. Seed availability, light, soil and disturbance influence what establishes. Succession varies between ecosystems; disturbance can redirect it or maintain open habitat.

Seralune is a deterministic planning model of invented patches, not a calibrated restoration tool. Soil, shade and seeds use qualitative 0–2 units. Its turns do not represent a fixed number of real years.

Rules for this little habitat model

A disturbance is an announced ecological event in the puzzle, not automatically a failure. Your target mosaic decides success. There is no rule that every patch must become woodland, and any plan meeting the final covers and budget is accepted.
